Congratulations, graduates! Whether you’re starting a new job or planning your next move, you have options for health insurance. Getting insurance can be easier than you think.
3 Health Insurance Options for New College Graduates
- Purchase a Marketplace plan. You may be eligible to enroll in Health Insurance Marketplace for the remainder of 2018 if you have a life event – such as moving to or from where you attended school, or losing other health insurance ( such as filing for a student plan or your parents’ coverage) — which qualifies you for a Special registration period.
- If you are under 26, stay or add to your parent’s plan. If a parent’s health insurance plan covers dependents, you can usually be added to their plan and remain there until age 26. Learn more about participate in your parent’s plan.
- Get Medicaid, if you qualify. If you work part-time, start a business, or don’t earn a lot of money, you may qualify for Medical help. If you qualify, coverage can begin immediately, any time of the year.
